When The Layla Adjustable Plus™ arrives, it will be in pairing mode so that you can connect it to WiFi, which means you will hear a beeping once you plug it in.
- If you do not want to use the app or voice commands, WiFi is not needed. So simply unplug the WiFi Adapter, and the beeping will stop. You can continue to use the remote that comes with the base to utilize all of the features. If you decide at a later date that you do want to use the WiFi capabilities, simply plug the WiFi adapter back in and follow the guide below.
To set up the App and Voice Command Features:
1.) Download and Register on the "Layla Adjustable Base Remote" App
- Note: for split base setups, 2 registrations/logins will be required for those wanting their beds to operate independently.
2.) Press the Foot-up & Foot-down buttons on the remote down for 5 seconds
- The blue LED light on the WiFi adapter will flash and beep every 3 seconds
3.) Open the WiFi settings interface on your phone and select "KeesonAp-xxxxxxxx"
4.) Open the "Layla Adjustable Base Remote" App and select the menu button and "All the Beds" option, then "Connect New Beds"
5.) Select your home WiFi and any applicable password, then click "Done". If the WiFi adapter beeps twice, that means the connection is all set.
- If the password entered for WiFi is incorrect, you will need to restart from Step 2.
6.) Return to the "New Bed" screen in the App and wait for the ID to be displayed. This can take up to 2 minutes. Click the ID number and then select "Ok" to complete the connection.
- Ensure your phone is using the same WiFi as the WiFi adapter.
- If you see a "Bind Failure" warning, please click the ID number again.
To Enable the Skill within the "Amazon Alexa" App
1.) Open the Amazon Alexa App and search for "South Bay Smart Base skill" and enable it
2.) Use the same email and password you registered with your "Layla Adjustable Base Remote" App
3.) The Amazon Alexa and the WiFi Adapter need to be set to the same LAN & use the same WiFi to work properly.
4.) Give the command "Alexa, ask my base to find device." Once your bed finds and connects to your device, you can begin using voice commands.
